will  Events

In addition to our work in the classroom, the will program offers many opportunities outside of the classroom!  Check out some of these will experiences below!

The Clothesline Project

The Clothesline Project is an annual event to bring attention to gender violence in the Richmond community and beyond. Each shirt is made by a survivor of gender violence and depicts their story. Allies in the fight against gender violence can also create a t-shirt to display. Each year, will members put together the Clothesline Project and educate members about gender violence.

Full Membership Meetings

will members get to know each other outside of the classroom through our full membership meetings. Some past full membership meetings have included speakers from Mutual Aid Richmond, meeting will alumni who are engaged in social justice work, consent workshops, printing tote bags, and community building activities.

will Socials

The will program also hosts socials throughout the semester where students can informally hang out and get to know each other. Past socials have included making cookies, arts & crafts, or just eating dinner together!

will Recognition Ceremony

At the end of each year, the will program hosts a ceremony to celebrate seniors in will. Along with all the members of the will program, each senior is able to invite people who have mentored them throughout their time at UR so they can celebrate their accomplishments with their mentors as well. During the program, each senior speaks on how will impacted their undergraduate careers and the leadership team reflects on what the program has accomplished in the past year. Additionally, faculty and staff members are recognized for their contributions as change makers on campus.
